Thank You Marathon Volunteers!

After a long week preparing for the Austin Marathon, we're happy to report the event was a huge success. Seventeen runners represented HCC in our second year to participate, and the fundraisers did an outstanding job raising awareness and contributions to protect open space. Together, the group raised over $11,000 through individual email campaigns.

Thank you to Abe Dashner, Alexa Knight, Andrew Meyer, Bradley Jones, Chris Day, Claudia Boles, Corby Jastrow, Dani Swayne, Emily Hillegeist, Ken Mills, Lee Harle, Leo Welder, Melissa Matthiesen, Mendy Willis, Miles McGraff, Nelda Hunter, Ryan Squires, Tory Meyer, & Zach Hunter for your hard work!

In addition to the runners, 30 volunteers staffed a water station at Mile 4 of the race, and helped spread not only the HCC message, but water, Powerade and a few hugs to 15,000 registered runners. Thanks to all who helped us out, we appreciate you!

EPIC UPDATE

Supporting the Cause

The Emerging Professionals in Conservation (EPIC) program raised over $20,000 in its first year! After careful deliberation, it was decided by members of the EPIC Leadership Council that funds would be applied towards operation expenses incurred by the Walk For A Day project.

The program continues to gain speed, and as of February 20th, had 126 active members. To learn more about EPIC upcoming activities and membership levels, please visit EPICaustin.com.
