Just a friendly heads up...

You're using an old browser that doesn't properly render many newer websites including this one. While you can still view this site, it will look much better if you do a free, easy upgrade. Upgrade in two minutes with Firefox (recommended), Google Chrome (also recommended), or Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 (if you must).

Welcome to the New Site!

Welcome to the New Site!

It’s finally here! After about a month of tweaking, we’ve decided to push the new site live and figure out the rest as we go.  We hope you like it and welcome your suggestions either here in the comment section or on our “Contact the Webmaster” Form.

The site is designed to evolve as we learn what works and what doesn’t – but the overall goals are to make it user-friendly, accessible, and current. While we tried to migrate most of the information from the old site, not everything made the cut. So if you can’t find what you’re looking for, you can access the old site here.

Since our webmaster is also in charge of fixing printers and battling spam, we can’t fix everything right away. But just to keep track of what’s in store for this site, here’s a running list of planned improvements:

  • Add a “Resources” page with more information on conservation easements
  • Improve the post archives navigation (currently, you can only access archived posts from the tabbed panel on the home page)
  • Convert site to Spanish
  • Add restricted donations to pages like WFAD
  • Add tags to the sidebar
  • Create unique staff profiles so you can see who is actually making posts
  • Create fancier 404 pages
  • Re-debug IE6
