As part of our mission to spread awareness about water quality issues, Andrea and Cheyenne recently made a trip to Circle C where they gave an exciting presentation about the Hill Country at Clayton Elementary. By far, the kids most appreciated Cheyenne’s aquifer model which demonstrate how ground water is filtered into the aquifer.

We originally planned to send all the kids home with baby trees which they could then plant with their parents, but that proved too difficult to manage (potted trees don’t travel well in backpacks). What a terrific way to get the water quality monitors of the future involved in the process at an early age. It feels so good to get kids to understand how they and their families play a part in the health of nature in their own community. Kudos!
